Obituary for Audrey (Wolfe) Taylor
Audrey (Wolfe)Taylor, 90, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away at 8:18 AM, on January 22, 2018 at Valley Haven Geriatric Center, Wellsburg, WV.
Audrey was born on January 14, 1928 in Glen Dale, WV. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence P. and Loretta (Boring) Wolfe.
Audrey was a devoted member of Wellsburg Christian Church, Wellsburg, WV, where she served with the Loyal Daughters, the Christian Womens’ Fellowship, and as a Sunday School Teacher. Many will remember Audrey for her love of Christ, sewing, crocheting, and baby sitting, but most of all, the true love of family.
In addition to her parents, Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Taylor and a brother, William Wolfe.
Audrey is survived by her five children, Esther Taylor, Larry (Toni) Taylor, Lou Ann (Jim) Dawson, all of Wellsburg, WV, Clara (Ted) Zatta of Avella, PA and Bertha Guio of Alpharetta, GA; eleven grandchildren, Jeff (Tasha), Dean, and Jim (Heather) Taylor, Laura (Bill) Matteson, Audra (Leo) Hansen, Marie (Ed) Kosut, Matthew (Ellen) Taylor, Shannon (Mark) Box, C. J. (Shawn) Gottardi, Adam and Gabriel Guio; 13 great grandchildren, Kevin, Kenny, Marshall, Anthony, Emily, Carson, Zachary, Nathan, Alex, Paige, Kennedy, Sidney, and Charlotte; two sisters, Esther L. Wolfe and Ruth A. Rossi of Warwood, WV and many loved nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 from 7:00-9:00 PM, Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM and again on Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral at 11:00 AM at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304)737-3551, with her pastor, Minister Ron Davis, officiating.
Interment will follow at Short Creek Cemetery, Wheeling, WV, next to her husband, William.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Audrey’s name to the Wellsburg Christian Church, c/o Chambers Funeral Home, 1030 Main Street, Wellsburg, WV 26070.
