Obituary for Sylvester "Wayne" Keller

Sylvester “Wayne” Keller, 76, of Wellsburg, WV passed away on Thursday,October 13, 2016 at Liza’s Place, Wheeling, WV.

Wayne was born on December 21, 1939 in Sutton, WV. He was the son of the late Gilbert and Valeria (Shock) Keller.

Wayne served in the United States Army. He retired from Valley Camp, Consol Energy as a Wireman. Many will remember Wayne for his love of hunting, 4 wheelers and the history channel.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his son, Fred Wilbur Keller.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Madine (Huffman) Keller of Wellsburg, WV, two children, Dewayne Keller and his wife, Joanie of Wellsburg, WV, Violet Dawson and her husband Jim of Windsor Heights,WV, 11 grandchildren, Amanda (James) Brown of Wheeling, WV, Fred Keller Jr. of Wheeling, WV, Michael (Jessica Miller) Dawson of Martins Ferry, OH, Matthew (Amanda) Dawson of Windsor Heights, and Tracy, Sonya, Jasmine, Catherine, Trinity, Alissa, and Christian Keller of Wellsburg, WV, eight great grandchildren, Hunter and Jace Keller, Kaidence, Dexter, and Lincoln Dawson, Austin, Triton, and Madison Brown, six brothers and sisters, Carl (LaVonne) Keller of Kent, OH, Shorty (Monique) Keller of Baltimore, MD, Evabelle (Jake) Miller of Wooster, OH, Ronnie (Donna) Keller of West Liberty, WV, Sharon (Ronald) Witt of Powhatton Point, OH, and Linda (Jim) Cogar of Belmont, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 3:00-7:00 PM with a brief memorial service at 3:00 PM with Kendra Huffman, presiding and a military salute by the WV Army National Guard at the Windsor Heights Community Center. The building will be open at 1:00PM for any food donations.

Veteran’s cremation under the care of Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304)737-3551.

In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made to the family for the purchase of a plaque on the Fred Veradi’s Tree of Life at Liza’s Place. The family would like to thank everyone for the love and support through this difficult time.
