Obituary for Allan Edward Williams

Allan Edward Williams, 85 of Colliers, WV, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at his home in Colliers, WV. He was born in Follansbee, WV and is preceded in death by his parents, Edward “Ted” and Era (Gowin) Williams and his two sisters, Martha Williams and Shirley DiVittorio.

Surviving are his wife, Wanda (Wajda) Williams; his daughter, Loretta Williams of Tampa, FL; his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Paul (Brawyn) Vida, Carol Wajda, Toni Marie Carozza, Janet Bryant and Irene Richards; and many cousins, nephews and nieces with whom he liked to tease and joke.

Allan retired from Weirton Steel Company as a pipefitter with over 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, Steubenville, OH and the Follansbee High School Class of 1955. He liked music, especially country and bluegrass, and he played the organ. Allan loved animals, especially his welsh corgis, miniature schnauzer, beagles, and various other hunting dogs, “mutt”, cats and horses who he cared for throughout his life. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours on the farm cutting and baling hay. He was a fan of NASCAR, the Steelers, and local high school football.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, December 30, 2022 from 2:00 PM until time of Funeral Service at 6:00 PM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717 with Reverend Benjamin Wright, officiating.
