Obituary for Arthur Martin Wagner

Arthur Martin Wagner, 85 of Follansbee, WV, passed away at 2:25 AM on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at MaryAnn Manor, Follansbee, WV, under the care of the staff and Amedisys Hospice.

Arthur was born on January 25, 1934 in Steubenville, OH. He was the son of the late Frank Wagner Sr. ad Olga (Muranko) Wagner.

Arthur was a graduate of Steubenville High School. He then went on to serve proudly in the United States Army guarding missile towers. After the military, Arthur worked at Weirton Steel Corporation until his retirement with 30 years of service. Arthur was a member of the Finley United Methodist Church, Steubenville, OH. Many will remember Arthur for his love of watching the Steelers and the Pirates.
In addition to his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna (Mellinger) Wagner in 1991, second wife, MaryAnn (Welling) Wagner in 2016, a son, Arthur Paul Wagner, a brother, Frank Wagner Jr.

Arthur is survived by his two daughters, Carol McHugh and her husband, Steve of Brilliant, OH and Tammy Nachman and her husband, Joe Jr. of Wintersville, OH, two step-daughters, Kathleen “Kathy” Gilkey and her husband, Jeffrey and LuAnn Ensminger and her husband, Wayne, all of Follansbee, WV, seven grandchildren, Jeannette Barrett and her husband, Nate of Sandusky, OH, Shawn Nachman and his wife, Amy of Vermilion, OH, Chris McHugh of Brilliant, OH, Nick McHugh and his wife, Maria Mc Hugh of Shadyside, OH, Carrie Beynon and her husband, Thomas of Sewickley, PA, Aaron Ensminger and his wife, Jessica of Wellsburg, WV and Emily Smith and her husband, LuReis of Follansbee, WV, 15 great grandchildren, Clayton and Teagan Barrett, Deziray, Tony, Blake, and Landen Nachman, Emelia Anne, Brooks, and twins, Annabelle and Margot Beynon, Aiden Ensminger, and Rowan, Colin and Felicity Smith, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, November 4, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 PM and again on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717 with Amedisys Hospice Chaplain, Jim Ogden, officiating.

Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Steubenville, OH with flag folding and presentation by the WV Army National Guard.

The family would like to thank the care of MaryAnn Manor and Amedisys Hospice for making their father feel like he was at home and with family.
