Obituary for Benjamin Joseph Donaldson
Benjamin Joseph Donaldson, 50 of Weirton, WV, passed away at 11:37 PM on Tuesday, January 4, 2023 at Weirton Medical Center, Weirton, WV.
Benjamin was born on March 18, 1972 in Steubenville, OH. He was the son of James Donaldson Sr. and the late Marjorie “Bunny” (Piddock) Ball.
Benjamin worked for 14 years at Riesbeck Food Market, Follansbee as a grocery manager. He was a son of the American Legion. Many will remember Ben for his love of the Miami Hurricanes and San Francisco 49, playing Darts with the “We are the Legion” Team; but most of all, spending time with his wife and fixing up the home. Ben was truly an all-around good family guy.
In addition to his mother, Benjamin was preceded in death by his brother, Charles “Charlie” Ball.
In addition to his father, Benjamin is survived by his wife of seven years, Carlena (McQuillian) Donaldson of Weirton, WV, step mother, Judie Donaldson of Brilliant, OH, two children, Rachel Trushel and her husband, Aaron of Freeport, OH and Rikki Keller and her husband, Shawn Williston of Amsterdam, OH, three step children, Danielle Black, Jenna Black and Katie Black, all of Weirton, WV, eight grandchildren, Selena, Aeriana and Zane Trushell, Douglas and Brock Williston, Konner and Avery Northcraft and Lucas Black, three siblings, James Andrew “Andy” Donaldson Jr. and his wife, Karen, Rebecca Hopkins and Jennifer Donaldson, three step sisters, Stacey, Ashley and Katie and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, January 9, 2023 from 2:00 PM until time of Funeral Service at 5:00 PM at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304)737-3551 with Pastor David Colvin, officiating.
