Obituary for Betty Jane Bowers (Hayes)
Betty Jane (Hayes) Bowers, 87 of Wooster, OH, formerly of Wellsburg, WV, went home to be
with Jesus on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Avenue of Wooster, OH.
Betty was born on July 28, 1932 in Wellsburg, WV. She was the daughter of the late Virgil and
Adrian Hayes. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Bowers, a son, David E. Bowers, a grandson, Chad Bowers, and three siblings, Benard Hayes, Melvin Hayes, and Helen
Postlewait.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Debra Jane Hummel and her husband, Lenny Hummel of
Dalton, OH, six grandchildren, several great grandchildren, three siblings, and numerous nieces
and nephews.
She served as a devout Chrisitan and was Apostolic Pentecostal in her denomination of faith.
Many will remember Betty for her love of others, love of dancing, love of food, and most
importantly, love of Jesus!
She will be greatly missed but fondly remembered.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, June 13, 2020 from 10:00 AM until time of
Funeral Service at 12 Noon at the Chambers Funeral Home in Wellsburg, WV. (304)737-3551.
