Obituary for Bridgette Jo Skiba (Smith)
Bridgette Jo (Smith) Skiba, 60 of Colliers, WV, passed away suddenly at 9:21 PM on Monday, May 3, 2021 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.
Bridgette was born on December 30, 1960 in Wheeling, WV. She was the daughter of Daniel R. and Iliene (Cole) Smith of Wellsburg, WV.
Bridgette was Christian by faith. She worked at Make Your Day Café for over 10 years and prior at Lowes and Kroger’s. Many will remember Bridgette for being one of a kind that loved a weekend getaway, laying in the pool, shopping, trips to Lake Erie with the girls and her parents; but most of all, for the dedication of being a mom, always including her parents and the good and loving life she had built with her husband, Bob.
Bridgette is preceded in death by her daughter, Maggie Ann Hinchee and a brother, Dominic “Nick” Smith.
In addition to her parents, Bridgette is survived by her husband of 12 years, Robert Skiba of Colliers, WV, her son, Daniel Thomas and his partner, Rachael Culler of Weirton, WV, two step-sons, Rick and Rob Thomas, three grandchildren, Rylan, Lily and Konor Roth, a sister, DeeAnn Schwertfeger and her husband, Mark E. of Follansbee, WV, a niece, Jesse DiBattista and her husband, Nick and a nephew, Jake Schwertfeger.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, May 7, 2021 from 11:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 1:00 PM at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304)737-3551 with Funeral Chaplain, Reverend Sharon Van Dam, officiating.
Interment will follow next to her daughter, Maggie at St. John Cemetery Haven of Rest, Colliers, WV.
