Obituary for Bruce Eugene Elliott Jr.
Bruce Eugene Elliott Jr., 72 of Bridgeport, WV passed away at 12:20 AM on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, OH.
Bruce was born on June 20, 1949 in Parkersburg, WV. He was the son of the late Bruce Eugene Elliott Sr. and Doris (Thomas) Elliott.
Bruce served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corp as a Corporal during the Vietnam War. He received the National Service Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one star and the Vietnam Campaign Medal with a device. Bruce retired from McElroy Mine as a belt repairman. He was Apostolic by denomination of faith. Many will remember Bruce for his love of Wild Life, being an avid Pittsburgh Pirate and the Steelers; but most of all, spending time with his wife’s grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his brother, David Elliott and sister, Diane Elliott.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Debbie (Dee) Elliott, five children, Bobby Jo, Cindy, Laura, Sherry and Jim, a step daughter, Rose Renee Barber, five grandchildren, three step grandchildren, Andrew Nathan and Myah, eight siblings, Judy Skluzacek and her husband, Keith, Robert “Bob” Elliott and his wife, Debbie, Michael “Mike” Elliott and his wife, Walda, Linda Williams, Gary Elliott and his wife, Eva, Susan Ossman and her husband, Doug, Brenda Williams and her husband, Randy and Carol Maudi and her husband, Dave and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, December 10, 2021 from 1:00-1:30PM at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304)737-3551. Immediately following will be a Graveside Service at 2:00 PM at Kadesh Chapel Cemetery, Beech Bottom, WV with Pastor Larry Wallbrown, officiating with Military Honors by the United States Marine Corp and the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
