Obituary for Caroline "Dolly" Craft
Caroline “Dolly” Craft, 68 of Wellsburg, WV, suddenly passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 after surgery at UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh, PA.
Dolly was born on March 25, 1952 in Wheeling, WV. She was the daughter of Rita Bremer of Wellsburg, WV and the late Walter Bremer and her late birth mother, Angelina (Marchese) Mitchell.
Dolly retired after 19 years of work with the United States Postal Service as the Clerk at the Wellsburg Branch. Prior to the USPS, she worked as a hair dresser. Dolly was a member of the Wellsburg United Methodist Church and the Women of the Moose. Many will remember Dolly for her love of reading novels and educational books, being a straight shooter with a heart of gold; but most of all, always educating everyone whether it was on how to send mail or hair dressers on how to cut hair. Dolly made a huge impact in the community with her voice of education in a nontraditional field.
In addition to her mother, Dolly is survived by her soul mate of 24 years her husband, Doug Craft, four siblings, Andrew Mitchell, Carol Taylor, Betty Zevios and Walter Bremer Jr., a sister-in-law, Ann and her husband, Ben, a brother-in-law, Matthew “Hollis”, a niece, a nephew, many cousins and special friends, Cindy Atwell and Anita.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, February 1, 2021 from 3:00 PM until time of Funeral Service at 6:00 PM at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304)737-3551 with Reverend Timothy Kelley, officiating.
Please note that limited access and social distancing will be in place during the visitation and service. All attendees will be required to wear a mask or face covering. In addition, if you are unable to attend or not feeling well, please consider sending a card or leaving an online condolence.
Interment will be held privately at Franklin Cemetery, Wellsburg, WV.
