Obituary for Carolyn Barnhart (Buchanan)
Carolyn (Buchanan) Barnhart, 72 of Weirton, WV, formerly of Follansbee, WV, passed away at 9:07 PM on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Weirton Medical Center, Weirton, WV.
Carolyn was born on January 20, 1950 in Wheeling, WV. She was the daughter of the late Alfred J. Buchanan and Edna Earle (Kemp) Buchanan.
Carolyn was a 1967 graduate of Wellsburg High School and worked as a clerk at 7-Eleven. Many will remember Carolyn for her being a past member of the Dallas Senior Center and the Hooverson Heights Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary; but most of all, being a wonderful mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her former husband, Paul Barnhart, brother, Victor Buchanan, daughter-in-law, Cathy Barnhart and a brother-in-law, Gordon “Dead Eye” Miller.
Carolyn is survived by her fiancé, Richard Pizzoferrato, two sons, Paul S Barnhart of Toronto, OH and Daniel C. Barnhart of Follansbee, WV, seven grandchildren, Shanda, Austin, Jake, Storm, Zachary, Kaitlyn and Gage Barnhart, six great grandchildren, two siblings, Christine Miller and Reverend Russell Buchanan and his wife, Millie, all of Wellsburg, WV and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 12 Noon until time of Funeral Service at 3:00 PM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717 with Pastor Larry Barkley, officiating.
