Obituary for David E. Streight

David E. Streight, 85 of St. Marys, WV, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital Parkersburg, WV.

David was born on May 14, 1937 in McMechan, WV. He was the son of the late Terry and Della (Anderson) Streight.

After finishing high school, David went on to serve proudly in the United States Navy. He retired after many years of service as a Truck Driver. David loved anything that had to do with the outdoors. He loved walking in the woods, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. Many will remember Dave for his stories he was always telling and bring a smile to anyone he came in contact with.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his son, Donald W. Dailey, four brothers, Roy, Terry, Raymond and Richard and three sisters, Juanita, Beatrice and Nancy.

David is survived by his loving wife, of 43 years, Viola (Felton) Streight, three children, Wilma Brookover and her husband, Edgel of St Marys, WV, Robert Kennedy and wife, Sheila of New York and Rebecca Vinson of North Carolina, nine grandchildren, who he was known as “Pap Pap”, Emily DeLancey and spouse, Brittany Thomas of Parkersburg, WV, Joey Baker-Soly and spouse, Dan of Wellsburg, WV, Michael Baker and spouse, Brandy of Sistersville, WV, Savanna Brookover of Parkersburg, WV, Meagan Brookover of St. Marys, WV, Robert Vinson of North Carolina, Jolena Vinson of Georgia, and Kyle Kennedy and Sarah Rounds-Kehoe, both of New York, 11 great grandchildren, who he loved very much and worshiped the ground they walked on, Gabby and Aydan DeLancey, Chloe and Cami Thomas, Alex Amick, Peyton Baker, Connor Holberton, Jackson and Phoenix Davis and Harmony Shamblen, two sisters-in-law, Shirley Felton and Sue Adams and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on August 27, 2022 at 12 Noon at Parr Hill Community Church, Beavertown, OH, with Pastor David “Packy” Beaver, officiating and Military Honors by the United States Navy. Fellowship will follow after the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in David’s memory to Parr Hill Community Church, 1125 Parr Hill Road, New Matamoras, OH.
