Obituary for Deborah Lynn Ramsey
Deborah “Deb” Lynn Ramsey, 66, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away at 11:26 PM on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at her residence.
Deb was born on May 15, 1953 in Wheeling, WV. She was the daughter of the late Clayton H. and Mary Ruth (Wood) Ramsey.
Deb graduated from Brooke High School in 1971 and went on to receive her Master in Arts from Marshall University. She worked in the Brooke County School System as a Speech Pathologist from 1981-1991 and then worked at the School of Bright Promise from 1991 until her retirement in 2015. Deb was a member of the Wellsburg United Methodist Church, Ohio and American Speech, Language, and Hearing Associations.
In addition to her parents, Deb was preceded in death by her brother, Rick Ramsey.
Deb is survived by her sister, Diane E. Ramsey of Greenville, NC, a sister-in-law, Mary Jo “Pat” Ramsey of Wellsburg, WV, four nieces and nephews, Tammy Ramsey of Winchester, VA, Brianne Utt and her husband, Steve of Wellsburg, WV, Joel Bancroft of Goldsboro, NC and Jon Bancroft and his wife, Joyce of Winterville, NC, four great nieces and a great nephew.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from 5:00-8:00 PM again on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304)737-3551 with Reverend Timothy Kelley, officiating.
Interment will follow at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, WV.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to the Wellsburg United Methodist Church, C/o Chambers Funeral Home, 1030 Main Street, Wellsburg, WV 26070.
