Obituary for Dixie LaVon "Bonnie" Suter (Mason)
Dixie “Bonnie” LaVon (Mason) Suter, 88 of Apple Pie Ridge, Beech Bottom, WV, passed away at 12:56 PM on Friday, April 3, 2020 at Weirton Medical Center, Weirton, WV.
Dixie was born on June 11, 1931 in Glen Easton, WV. She was the daughter of the late Alton and Alwilda Mason.
Dixie retired from the former West Liberty State College after 18 years of service in the housekeeping department. She then went on the work at the Nutrition Center in Windsor Heights. Dixie was a faithful member of the Kadesh Chapel United Methodist Church on Apple Pie Ridge. Many will remember Dixie for her love of crocheting, quilting and sewing.
In addition to her parents, Dixie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Suter; two children, Duane Suter and Tammy Nixon; six siblings, Romaine Paetzold, Darlene Magee, Opal Lee, Crystal Hores, Rexene Mason and Grayling Mason.
Dixie is survived by her five children, Sharla Butler and her husband Steve, of Beech Bottom, WV, Christie Lynn of Weirton, WV, Erin Staffileno of Lewisburg, WV, Stetson Suter and his wife Wendy, of West Liberty, WV, Tara Stillwell and her husband Michael, of Beech Bottom, WV; a brother, Danny Mason of Missouri; many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Private family gathering and service was held at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304)737-3551. Interment followed at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, WV.
