Obituary for Donald Edward Meadows Sr.
Donald E. Meadows Sr., 89 of Wheeling, formerly of Beech Bottom, WV, passed away at 2:38 P.M. on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV.
Donald was born on May 19, 1930 in Kellysville, WV. He was the son of the late John and Lillian (Whitlow) Meadows.
Donald served proudly in the United States Army and Navy . He retired from McComb’s Auto Service in Fulton Area of Wheeling as a state inspection mechanic in 1998. Many will remember Donald for his love of honkytonk, coffee, westerns and music; but most of all, the love for his family.
IN addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his son, Wayne Hall, granddaughter, Crystal Jurek, three sisters, Delphia Izso, Bonnie Davis and Mildred Caldwell and a brother, John Meadows.
Donald is survived by his wife, Rose Meadows, five children, Donald E. Meadows Jr. of Bellaire, OH, James Meadows of Beech Bottom, WV, Karen Jurek and her husband, Phillip of Florida, Bonnie “Susie” Robinson and her husband, James of Wellsburg, WV and Becky Meadows of Wheeling, WV, 11 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, two sisters, Norma Parcell of Narrows, VA, Shirley Tankersley of Floyd, VA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM and again on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304)737-3551.
Interment will follow at Kadesh Chapel Cemetery, Beech Bottom, WV with Military Honors by the United States Navy and the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
