Obituary for Doris Jean Bartholow (West)
Doris Jean (West) Bartholow, 67 of Colliers, WV, passed away at 7:26 AM on Monday, December 2, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Jean was born on May 26, 1952 in Fairmont, WV. She was the daughter of Betty (Hickman) Satterfield of Core, WV and the late Marion West.
Jean retired from Family Connection/Brooke Place, Colliers, WV as the office manager, where she received the Above and Beyond Award in 2015. She was also named a Shining Star by the Herald Star in 2012. Many will remember Jean for her love and commitment to her job, her enjoyment of quilting and scrapbooking; but most of all, for her devotion to her husband and family especially tormenting the grandchildren.
In addition to her father, Jean was preceded in death by her step-father, Glenn Satterfield, a sister, Dru Blankenship.
Jean is survived by her husband of 44 years, Richard Bartholow, a daughter, Carolee Lancaster and her husband, Todd, all of Colliers, WV, two grandchildren, Britny Patterson and her husband, Andrew, Goldsboro, NC and Ryan Lancaster of Colliers, WV, a great granddaughter, Katarina, two siblings, Dora Smith of Core, WV and David West of Morgantown, WV, and nieces and nephews including Tammy Curry.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, December 5, 2019 from 4:00 PM until time of Service at 8:00 PM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304) 527-1717.
