Obituary for Douglas Wells "Doug" Craft

Douglas “Doug” (Wells) Craft, 74 of Wellsburg, WV, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at his residence under the care of Valley Hospice.

Doug was born on October 11, 1946 in Wheeling, WV. He was the son of the late Matthew and Vista (Byhanna) Craft.

Doug worked as a truck driver with Olympic Trucking. Many will remember Doug as an avid runner, listening to music and a sports fan of the Cincinnati Reds and the Dallas Cowboys.

In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his wife, Dolly Craft, a brother, Terry Craft and mother-in-law, Rita Bremer.

Doug is survived by his two siblings, Ann Craft and her husband, Ben Arikian and Hollis Craft, all of Bethany, WV, a niece, Cassi McConnaughy and her husband, Patrick, a nephew, Brent Craft and his wife, Melissa, Dolly’s family, Andrew Mitchell, Carol Taylor, Walter Bremer Jr., Betty Zevios and her husband, George and Rita Jo Lockard, his dear neighbors, Rick and Debbie Soly, Tracy and George Cole and Kathy and Ron Javorsky.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 3:00 PM until time of Funeral Service at 6:00 PM at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304)737-3551 with Reverend Timothy Kelley, officiating. Masks are requested.

Interment will be held privately at Franklin Cemetery, Wellsburg, WV, next to his dear wife.

Doug and his family would like to personally and publicly thank Dr. Christopher Link at Allegheny General Hospital and Dr. Jeffrey Gordon on the Palliative Care Team for their complete and thoughtfulness as they provide care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Association or Valley Hospice, C/o Chambers Funeral Home, 1030 Main Street, Wellsburg, WV, 26070.
