Obituary for Elizabeth Mary "Betty" Mazezka (Roman)
Elizabeth “Betty” Mary (Roman) Mazezka, 84 of Follansbee, WV, has fallen asleep in the Lord on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Weirton Medical Center, Weirton, WV with her family by her side.
Betty was born on May 9, 1935 in Follansbee, WV. She was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Pfieffer) Roman.
Betty was a member of the Holy Transfiguration Russian Orthodox Church, Steubenville, OH, where she married her beloved husband, Theodore. She retired as a secretary at Mazezka Law Office. Many will remember Betty for her love of spending time with her family and dog, enjoyment of walking and watching WVU Sports.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore “Pee Wee” Mazezka, three siblings, John Roman, Mary Margaret Goettel and Charles Roman.
Betty is survived by five sons, John Marty Mazezka and his wife, Judy of New Manchester, WV, Mike Mazezka of New Cumberland, WV, Ted Mazezka and his wife, Virginia Lamp of Wintersville, OH, Gary Mazezka and his wife Melody of St. Albans, WV, Jack Mazezka of Seattle, Washington, five grandchildren, Jared, Elizabeth, Zachary, Martin and Kayla, three great grandchildren, Eliza, Trinity and Vontrell and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, January 24, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 PM and again on Saturday, January 25, 2020 from 9:00 am until time of Funeral Service at 11:00AM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717 with the Very Reverend William Evansky, presiding.
Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee, WV.
