Obituary for Emma Elaine (Ferda) Bullock
Emma Elaine (Ferda) Bullock, 88, of Follansbee, WV, passed away 8:55 PM on Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Maryann Manor, Follansbee, WV under the care of the staff and Amedisys Hospice.
Emma was born on March 5, 1930 in Wellsburg, WV. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Blas) Ferda.
Emma was a faithful member of Christ Episcopal Church, Wellsburg, WV. She retired after 30 years of service to C&P Telephone Company as an operator. Many will remember Emma for her love of Euchre, dancing, slots, collecting salt and peppers shakers and singing Karaoke; but most of all, for her smile and love.
Emma was preceded in death by her first husband, Billie J. Hammonds Sr., second husband, George Bullock, a daughter, Elaine Hammonds, two brothers, Mike and John Ferda, four sisters, Mary Evanko, Margaret Ferda, Pauline Triplett and Wilma LeVine, and two infant siblings.
Emma is survived by her two children, BJ Hammonds Jr. and his wife, Judy and Pam Ewusiak, all of Follansbee, WV, seven grandchildren, Brian Brown and his wife, Veronica of Colliers, WV, Rob Brown and his wife, Theresa of California, BJ Hammonds III of Colliers, WV, Joel Ewusiak and his girlfriends, Haley Maple of Tampa, FL, Sherah Rothman and her husband, Jeff of Pittsburgh, PA, Shelly Ewusiak of Follansbee, WV and Hannah Ewusiak of Weirton, WV, six great grandchildren, Landon, Madison, Matt, Makenna, and Anthony Brown, Emma Ewusiak and Logan Dempsey, three sisters, Sue Hanlon of Huntington, WV, Helen Gorby of Fairborn, OH and Jane Koniski of Wintersville, OH and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, January 14, 2019 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM and again on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 8:30 til 9:00 AM at James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Christ Episcopal Church, Wellsburg, WV with Reverend Phil Van Dam, presiding.
Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee, WV.
