Obituary for Ernest "Buzz" Dale Anderson Sr.
Ernest “Buzz” Dale Anderson Sr., 87, of Colliers, WV, was called home at 4:08 AM on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at his residence under the care of his family and Amedisys Hospice.
Ernest was born on August 28, 1931 in Colliers, WV. He was the youngest son of Jerome and Nancy (Kocher) Anderson.
Ernest was a member of Ferry Glen Church of the Nazarene where he was the Treasurer, Board Member, and Sunday School Teacher. He retired after 30 years of service from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Many will remember Buzz for his dedication of the Ferry Glen Church, winning the Golden Horse Shoe, working with concrete; but most of all his love of family.
In addition to his parents, Ernest was preceded in death by his 10 siblings.
Ernest is survived by his wife of 60 years, Yvonne (Oiler) Anderson of Colliers, five children, Christine Lilly and her husband, James of Follansbee, WV, Ernest Dale Anderson Jr. and his wife, Bonnie of Morgantown, WV, Garren Lee Anderson, Betty Bowland and her husband, Chuck, and John Anderson, all of Colliers, WV, 12 Grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM and again on Monday, April 8, 2019 from 10:00 AM until time of Homegoing Service at 11:00 AM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717, with Funeral Chaplain, Reverend Sharon Van Dam, Officiating.
Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Colliers, WV.
