Esther Eleanor (Fletcher) Baker, 90 of Steubenville, OH, was called home to Heaven at 6:46 PM on the Lord's Day, Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Trinity Medical Center, Steubenville, OH.
Esther was born on January 14, 1930 in Steubenville, OH. She was the daughter of the late Albert C. Fletcher and Lowena (Ford) Fletcher.
Esther was a member of Quinn AME, Steubenville, OH. She worked as a life guard at Central Recreation Center, a School Crossing Guard and the Manager of the State Liquor Store in Hollywood Plaza for many years until her retirement.
In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by her five siblings, Albert C. Fletcher Jr., Herbert Fletcher, Richard Fletcher, Gorden Fletcher and Doris Elmore
Esther is survived by her six children, Jocelyn Holmes of Fairmont, WV, Jerilyn Thompson of Union, SC, Jynelle Stanton of Steubenville, OH, Jennifer Holmes of Virginia, Wanda Holmes of Long Island, NY and Garland Baker of California, 29 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, February 1, 2020 from 11:00 AM until time of Homegoing Service at 1:00 PM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV(304)527-1717, with Nephew, Pastor Herb Fred Fletcher, officiating.
