Obituary for Evelyn "Perk" Elizabeth (Perkins) Robinson

Evelyn “Perk” Elizabeth (Perkins) Robinson, 88, of Colliers, WV, passed away at 9:31 AM on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.

Perk was born on July 23, 1930 in Burgettstown, PA. She was the daughter of the late Frederick and Milvern “Millie” (Finnegan) Perkins.

Perk attended Burgettstown High School, she then worked as a waitress early in her life at the Farm Restaurant, Paris, PA and GC Murphy, Weirton, WV. She was a faithful member of the Colliers United Methodist Church, life member of the Colliers Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary severed as secretary for 60 years, 42 Naomi Rebekah Lodge, Colliers, Founder and President of the One Room School House Reunion Committee (Hanover Township), Ladies of the Oriental Shrine – Isis Court, Wheeling, WV, and Weirton Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Many will remember Perk for all the organization as well as being an avid quilter and canning her Pickled Beets.

In addition to her parents, Perk was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley “Slum” Robinson, three siblings, James and Joe Perkins and Sara Belle Pulver.

Perk is survived her children, Wayne Robinson and his wife Roberta of Bloomingdale, OH, Diane Lucero and her husband, Frank of Wellsburg, WV, and Wesley Robinson of Colliers WV and the mother of his children, Lynn (Higginbotham) Robinson, grandchildren, Ian Michael Robinson, Matthew and Michael Lucero, and Seawoman (E-3) Brandee Lynn Robinson serving in the United States Navy and Mandee Elizabeth Robinson, great granddaughter, Gracie Lynn Wylie, two siblings, Jeanie Caldwell of Maryland and Lee Perkins and his wife, Pat of Pittsburgh, PA, several nieces and nephews and her many friends from the Village of Colliers, WV.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, March 3, 2019 from 2:00-5:00 PM and again on Monday, March 4, 2019 from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717 with Reverend Scott Mapes, officiating.

Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Colliers, WV.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Perk’s favorite organizations, Shriner’s Children Hospital or Colliers United Methodist Church, C/o James Funeral Home, 1245 Main Street, Follansbee, WV.
