Evelyn Helen (Beres) Winski Rodgers, 90 of St. Albans, formerly of Wellsburg, WV, passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, WV.
Evelyn was born on September 10, 1931 in Wellsburg, WV. She was the daughter of the late Alex Beres Jr. and Helen (Herzig) Beres.
Evelyn was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Wellsburg where she served on Altar and Rosary Society and worked on the funeral luncheon team. She retired after 20 plus years of service as a Deputy County Clerk for Brooke County. Many will remember Evelyn for her devotion to her family.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Winski, second husband, Hazlett Rodgers Jr., a daughter, Kay Rodgers Schuetzner, a great grandson, Aidan Theriot and two brothers, Alex “Sonny” and John C. Beres.
Evelyn is survived by her six children, Debbie Heinzeroth and her husband, Harry of Wellsburg, WV, R. Michael Winski and his wife Dianne of Camden, WV, James Winski of Jane Lew, WV, Mark Winski of Bridgeport, WV, Suzanne Lucas and her husband, Howard (Russ)of St. Albans, WV and Bonnie Lukacena of Bluffton, SC, 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Joanne Beres and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, January 21. 2022 from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304)737-3551.
Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 12 Noon at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Wellsburg, WV with Father Arul Anthony, celebrant.
Interment will follow at Franklin Cemetery, Wellsburg, WV.
