Obituary for Florence Marie Thomas (Moore)
Florence Marie (Moore) Thomas, 88 of Colliers, WV passed away at 10:30 PM on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Trinity Medical Center, Steubenville, OH.
Florence was born on July 21, 1934 in Follansbee, WV. She was the daughter of the late Harvey David Moore and Helen Madilyn (Saffle) Moore.
Florence was a Jehovah Witness being very active and attending talks at the Kingdom Hall, Follansbee, WV. Many will remember Florence for her love of reading, gardening from flowers to her vegetable garden that she shared with her family, friends and doctors in addition to her cooking and baking; but most of all, always sharing her bible especially with her sister every evening from 8-9 PM talking about the day and witnessing to each other.
In addition to her parents, Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Thomas, two sons, Robert Thomas and Todd Thomas, and a brother, John “Jack” Moore.
Florence is survived by her three grandchildren, Paul Thomas of Colliers, WV, Anna Maloney and her husband, Daniel of Weirton, WV and Heather Martindale and her husband, Dan of the Carolinas, three great grandchildren, Emma, Hailey and Logan, two siblings, Violet Jean Vincent of Fairmont, WV and Charles “Chuck” Moore and his wife, Faye of Colliers, WV, two daughters-in-law, Kathy Thomas of Wellsburg, WV and Lisa Thomas of the Carolinas and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2514 Eldersville Road Follansbee, WV 26037 with a meal provided after to continue in remembrance of her life.
A private interment will be held at St. John Cemetery Haven of Rest, Colliers, WV.
