Obituary for Frances Marie Kowalik (Mihlbauer)
Frances “Fran” Marie (Mihlbauer) Kowalik, 91 of Follansbee, WV, passed away at 11:05 PM on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at her residence under the care of her family with the assistance of Amedisys Hospice.
Fran was born on December 3, 1930 in Wellsburg, WV. She was the daughter of the late Homer and Mary (Liva) Mihlbauer.
Fran will be remembered as a loving mother and caretaker of everyone always entertaining. She enjoyed camping, painting, the outdoors, sewing, making pies, baking cakes and decorating all with family and friends. In addition Fran loved to play softball.
In addition to her parents, Fran was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” M. Kowalik Jr. and her sister, Donna McGinnis.
Fran is survived by her three loving children, Dorothy Miller and Sharon and Michael Kowalik, three wonderful grandchildren, Theresa, Lisa and Bobby, five great grandchildren, Jessica, Austin, Kara, Ryan, Ashley, and Tylee, three great great grandchildren, Aubree, Corbin and Aiden, two nephews and a niece.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, August 15, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM and again on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717 with Pastor Joseph F. Cuomo of the Christian Assembly of Follansbee, officiating.
Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee, WV.
