Obituary for Gertrude Virginia Orr (Geiger)
Gertrude Virginia (Geiger) Orr, 82 of Beech Bottom, WV, passed away at 1:00 AM on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Weirton Medical Center, Weirton, WV.
Gertrude was born on September 11, 1937 in Frances Mine, PA. She was the daughter of the late John and Olive (Cheek) Geiger.
Gertrude was a member of the Riverview Baptist Church, Wellsburg, WV. Many will remember Gertrude for her love of sewing, baking, and devotion to Christ; but most of all, as the most dedicated mom.
In addition to her parents, Gertrude was preceded in death by eight siblings.
Gertrude is survived by her five children, Christine Huff and her husband, Roy, Rebecca Orr, all of Beech Bottom, WV, Rachel Orr and her husband, James Paulson of Hillsborough, NC, Karen Fritts and her husband, Christopher of Fredericksburg, VA, and Sharon Orr of Sanford, NC, father of her children, Thomas Orr of Burgettstown, PA, five grandchildren, Olivia and Joseph Huff, Joseph Ciancetta, and Zachary and Dylan Fritts, two great grandchildren, Timmy and MJ, four sisters, Margaret (George) McDonald of Pittsburgh, PA, Linda Halsey and her husband, Max of Wellsburg, WV, Barbara Linkish of Paris, PA and Beatrice Gustina of Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, December 13, 2019 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM and again on Saturday, December 14, 2019 from 9:00 until time of Funeral Service at 10:00 AM at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304)737-3551 with Pastor Steve Poling, officiating.
Interment will follow at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Colliers, WV.
