Obituary for Harry Frederick Staten Sr.

Harry Frederick Staten Sr., 80 of Wheeling, WV, formerly of Wellsburg, WV, passed away at 4:50 AM on Monday, October 11, 2021 at Stonerise, Moundsville, WV under the care of the staff with the assistance of Amedisys Hospice.

Harry was born on June 21, 1941 in Wellsburg, WV. He was the son of the late Walter Leroy Staten and Thelma Johannah (Schupbach) Staten.

He was a graduate of Wellsburg High School. He was a member of the Wellsburg Saddle Club along with his parents. His father, took their utmost pride in training and traveling, racing ponies as a team. Harry enjoyed nature, hunting, fishing and attending local fairs and being with this beloved family.

In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his three siblings, Robert Staten Sr., Jackie Wilson, Walter “Gig” Staten Jr. and a brother-in-law he thought dearly of Ernest Capp Sr.

Harry is survived by his four children, Annesa Gwen Staten of Wheeling, WV, Harry Frederick Staten Jr. of North Carolina, Shawn Jamison Staten and his wife, Lori of North Carolina and Kristal Lynn Busch of Pennsylvania, seven grandchildren, Brandon Desrocher, Chelsea Staten, John Jay Baxter, Justin Baxter, Jenna Baxter, Damon Staten, Breann Busch, five precious great grandchildren, Leo Desrocher, Salem Desrocher, Jay Shawn Staten, Armoni Staten, Zarianah Staten, a sister, Joann Capp of Beech Bottom, WV and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be forever loved by his family!
