Obituary for Harry "Bud" John Bain, Sr.

Harry John "Bud" Bain, Sr.,84, of Follansbee, WV, passed away at 3:30pm on Friday, November 16, 2018 at UPMC Mercy, Pittsburgh, PA.

Harry was born on February 15, 1934 in Midway, PA. He was the son of the late John and Hester (Cagnon) Bain.

Harry retired after 38 years from Weirton Steel Company as a welder. He was a member of the Colliers United Methodist Church, the Wellsburg Moose Club and Colliers Sportsman Club. Many will remember Bud for his witty humor, storytelling and as an avid hunter.

In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his first wife of 40 years, Mamie Doloris (Summers) Bain, three sons, Michael and twins Ronald and Donald Bain, a great-grandson, Andrew, two brothers, Kenneth Bain and Richard “Dick” Bain, two sisters, Faye Baker and Betty Jane Lieb.

Harry is survived by his wife of 21 years, Vernice (Hartley) Bain, four loving and devoted children, Harry John (Linda) Bain of Follansbee, WV, Daniel (Karen) Bain of Colliers, WV, Diana (Robert) Ruble of Moundsville, WV and Eric (Kathy) Bain of Stafford Springs, CT, two step-children, Treva Petrovich of Weirton, WV and Mark (Susan) Hartley of Manassas, VA, eleven proud grandchildren, John Michael, Janna, Eian, Daniel, Madison, Taylor, Jenna, Justin, Brandon, Aaron and Tyler, 14 great-grandchildren, a sister, Vivian Hall of Beech Bottom, WV and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, November 19 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304) 527-1717 and again on Tuesday, November 20 from 10am to time of Funeral Service at 11am at Colliers United Methodist Church, 318 Pennsylvania Ave, Colliers, WV with Rev. Scott Mapes, officiating.

Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Colliers, WV.
