Obituary for Jolena Ruth (Carroll) Spear
Jolena Ruth (Carroll) Spear, 92, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away 3:04 PM on Monday, April 1, 2019 at Dixon Health Center, Wintersville, OH.
Jolena was born on September 23, 1926 in Reader, New Martinsville Area, WV. She was the daughter of the late Newman and Ida (Amos) Carroll.
Jolena retired from Eagle Manufacturing, Wellsburg, WV. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Wellsburg, WV. Many will remember Jolena for her love of cooking and camping with her husband.
In addition to her parents, Jolena was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Spear, a son, Mark Spear Jr., three grandchildren, Tommy Shaffer, Sherry Yost and Cindy Baird, five brothers, Claud Carroll, Otis Carroll, Clarence Carroll, Hershel Carroll and Arnold Carroll, and two sisters, Maple Hooker and Thelma Sole.
Jolena is survived by her two daughters, Sheila Shaffer of Follansbee, WV and Mary Ann Hartley of Wellsburg, WV, an adopted son, Marcus Milian of Wellsburg, WV, three grandchildren, Michelle Enz, James Hartley Jr. and Leeann Tricket, nine great grandchildren, and a great great grandson, a sister, Ann Wandling of Weirton, WV and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 from 2:00 until time time of Liturgy of the Word Service at 3:00 PM at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304)737-3551, with Father Daniel Pisano, officiating.
Internment will be held privately at Franklin Cemetery, Wellsburg, WV.
