Obituary for Joyce Lynne McAlpine

Joyce Lynne McAlpine, 58 of Wellsburg, WV, passed away at 12:03 AM on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV.

Joyce was born on February 15, 1962, Wheeling, WV. She was the daughter of the late Alan R. McAlpine and Grace L. (Suddoth) McAlpine.

Joyce was a 1980 graduate of Brooke High School. She worked at the former Steel Crete Credit Union, Beech Bottom and retired as assistant director to the Brooke County Public Library. Many will remember Joyce for her love of cats, being a member of the Elks and the Moose including the Women of the Moose where she held past offices; but most of all, for her loving and caring personality, the column she wrote for the Brooke County Review and being a 2009 nominee of Citizen of the Year by the Wellsburg Chamber of Commerce.

Joyce is survived by her three siblings, Robert A. McAlpine and his wife, Florence of Wellsburg, WV, Kathleen R. Reinauer and her husband, Greg of Wheeling and Cynthia A. Falbo and her husband, Jack Sr. of Fairmont, WV, eight nieces and nephews, Barbara Yaussy and her husband, Dale of Florida, Joanne Stevens and her husband, Mike of Follansbee, WV, Debra Reinauer and her fiancé’, Michael Gilchrist of Ohio, Linda Hough and her husband, Brian of Wheeling, WV, Brian Reinauer and his wife, Natalie of Wheeling, WV, Maria Reinauer and her companion, Tim Guethorol of Wheeling, WV, Stephanie Falbo of Michigan and Jack Falbo Jr. of Fairmont, WV, numerous great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, November 23, 2020 from 2:00-8:00 PM and again on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304)737-3551 with Pastor Ron Davis, officiating.

Please note that limited access and social distancing will be in place during the visitation and service. All attendees will be required to wear a mask or face covering. In addition, if you are unable to attend or not feeling well, please consider sending a card or leaving an online condolence.

Interment will follow at Independence Cemetery, Independence, PA.
