Leonard Carl Shannon, 69 of Brilliant, OH, passed away peacefully at 12 Noon on November 7, 2018 at his home under the care of his wife with the assistance of Valley Hospice.

Leonard was born on July 20, 1949 in Wellsburg, WV. He was the son of the Carl and Wanda (Fluharty) Shannon.

Leonard served his country proudly in the United States Army as an E-5 (Sergeant) during the Vietnam War. He worked as a unit operator for AEP in Brilliant, OH. Many will remember Leonard as an avid fan of the Steelers and Pirates and an even bigger Elvis Presley fan.

Leonard is survived by his dedicated and loving wife, Gayle (McFadden) Shannon of Brilliant OH, four children, Leslie Hill of Brilliant, OH, Wendy Walker and her husband, Chad of Smithfield, OH, Lindsay Walker and her husband, Bill of Brilliant, OH and Cody Shannon and his wife, Andrea of Moon Township, PA, nine grandchildren, Zack and Pacey Hill, Landyn, Braydon, Rylan, Tatum, Kaydence, and Ryder Walker and Presleigh Shannon, two siblings, Newt Shannon and wife, Nancy and Vicki Gast and her husband Jerry Gast.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 3:00-7:00 PM and again on Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304)737-3551, with Bonnie Gilbert, officiating.

Interment will follow at Bethany Cemetery, Bethany, WV with Military Honors by the WV Army National Guard.
