Obituary for Loreto "Larry" Venditti II
Loreto “Larry” Venditti II, 73 of Wintersville, OH, passed away at 4:24 PM on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022 at Trinity Medical Center, Steubenville, OH.
Larry was born on January 27, 1949 in Weirton, WV. He was the son of the late Cesare “Jess” Venditti and Filomena “Thelma” (Romeo) Venditti.
Larry served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War with the First Calvary becoming highly decorated with medals during his return to the States. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Theta Chi Alpha Fraternity, both of Follansbee, WV. Larry worked for many years at Weirton Steel and was the owned and operated Venditti Construction building homes and carpentry work. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler Fan, you could say a #1 Fan.
Larry is survived by his three children, Loreto Venditti III and his wife, Dailyn of Stockbridge, GA, Marco Venditti of Wintersville, OH and Ashley Dykeman and her husband, Andrew of New Brighton, PA, the mother of his children, Linda (Isner) Venditti of Belington, WV, five grandchildren, Cecelia, Giancarlo and Enzo Venditti and Alexis and Aleia Dykeman, a great grandchild, Gianna, three siblings, Mary Ann Rigby and her husband, Rod, of New Port Richie, FL, Francine Emery of Steubenville, OH and Lucinda Rollings of New Port Richie, FL, a nephew, Roger and three nieces, Jessica, Melissa and Michelle.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717 where funeral will commence on Thursday at 9:30 AM
A Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Follansbee, WV with Father Arul Anthony, presiding.
Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee, WV with Military Honors by the WV Army National Guard and the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
