Obituary for Lucy Ellen Saunders (Davis)
Lucy Ellen Saunders, 83 of Follansbee, WV, passed away at 6:55 AM on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at her residence under the care of her daughters and Valley Hospice.
Lucy was born on August 25, 1936 in Bethany, WV. She was the daughter of the late William Wallace Davis and Edwinna Mae (Mozingo) Davis.
Lucy was a member of the Follansbee Church of Christ. Many will remember Lucy for being very social and active in the church, card club and the senior center.
In addition to her parents, Lucy was preceded in death by her two twin sons, Kirk Saunders, at birth and Keith Saunders, January 2010, and her ten siblings.
Lucy is survived by her four children, Randy Saunders of North Carolina, Kelly Guercio of Follansbee, WV, Kerri Ketchum and her husband, Jack of Weirton, WV and Wendy Allen of Wellsburg, WV, eight grandchildren, Terra, Tonya, Ian, Analisse, Kylie, Haiden, Garrett, Mallorey, eight great grandchildren, Christopher, Cierra, Courtney, Taylor, Michael, Shaeleigh, Cody and Raelynn, a great great granddaughter, Mia and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 11 AM until time of Memorial Service at 1 PM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717, with Minister William Cooper and Pastor Tim Colvin, officiating.
Interment will be private at Franklin Cemetery, Wellsburg, WV on the family plot.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children Hospital, C/o James Funeral Home, 1245 main Street, Follansbee, WV 26037.
