Obituary for Mark Thomas Simala
Mark Thomas Simala, 51 of Wellsburg, WV, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Weirton Medical Center, Weirton, WV.
Mark was born on April 2, 1971 in Charleroi, PA. He was the son of the late Paul and Carol (Davis) Simala.
Mark was Catholic by faith. He worked for 22 years as a Special Agent with the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration in the State of PA and was the Commander of the Hancock Brooke Drug Task Force. He was a former member of FOP. Many will remember Mark for his love of hunting, fishing and sports; but most of all, for being an avid runner participating in Marathons and his work with Easter Seals.
Mark is survived by his wife of 26 years, Joann (Turner) Simala of Wellsburg, WV, four children, Taylor Simala of Pittsburgh, PA, Kyle Simala of Wellsburg, WV, Zach Sloneker and his wife, Ciara of Stockdale, PA and Loren Kunco of Pittsburgh, PA, a brother, Brad Simala and his wife, Kim of Washington, PA.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 12 Noon – 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM until time of Funeral Service at 7:30 PM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717 with Reverend Benjamin Wright, officiating.
Following the service, Mark will be cremated and taken home to remain with his wife and children.
