Obituary for Mary J. Massimino
Mary J. (Persina) Massimino, 96 of Follansbee, WV, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022 after a brief illness at Brightwood Center, Follansbee, WV.
Born in Follansbee, WV. on August 24, 1925, Mary was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Skusek) Persina.
She was a switchboard operator and trainer with C&P Telephone Co. of Follansbee, WV, and later worked at Mammoth Plastics in Wellsburg, WV.
Mary loved gardening, nature, writing poetry and walking. She had the honor of being selected to the 1947 Steubenville Sesquicentennial Veterans Homecoming Queen's Court.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Massimino, son, Andrew Lee Massimino, and two siblings, Joseph Persina and Ann Intihar.
She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Higginbotham (Tim) of Fort Pierce, FL, nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held at the James Funeral Home of Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717.
Interment will be held privately at Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee, WV.
