Obituary for Myrtle Evelyn Carey (Mitchell)
Myrtle E. (Mitchell) Carey, 99 of Wellsburg, WV, passed away at 1:48 AM on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at her residence under the care of her family with the assistance of Amedisys Hospice.
Myrtle was born on November 28, 1921 in Cross Creek, WV. She was the daughter of Loraine Edgar Mitchell and Nellie Virginia (Chessebrough) Mitchell.
Myrtle was a faithful member of the Franklin United Methodist Church serving in the kitchen ministry. Many will remember Myrtle for her love of quilting, cooking and her beloved grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Myrtle was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Harold Ross Carey and her two siblings, Harry Mitchell and Betty Carey.
Myrtle is survived by her three daughters, Suzanne Richmond and her husband, Lee of Florida, Janet Nelson and her husband, Robert and Kathy Metz and her husband, Steve, all of Wellsburg, WV, seven grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Interment will follow at Franklin Cemetery, Wellsburg, WV next to her dear husband, Harold.
