Obituary for Nicholas "Butch" Wesley Valero Jr.

Nicholas “Butch” Wesley Valero Jr., 75, of Colliers, WV passed away at 7:45 PM on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Trinity Medical Center, Steubenville, OH.

Nicholas was born on April 21, 1943 in Wheeling. WV. He was the son of Gladys (Marker) Valero of Colliers, WV and the late Nicholas Valero.

Nicholas graduated from Follansbee High School in 1961 and went on to WV Northern and West Liberty. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Nicholas was a member of Olde St. John's Episcopal Church, Colliers, WV. He retired after 38 years as the Superintendent of Kopper's Follansbee, WV. Many will remember Butch for his love of the Cabin in Great Cacapon, WV and fishing; but most of all, his devoted love of his family.

In addition to his father, Nicholas was preceded in death by his sister, Darlene Mamarella.

In addition to his mother, Nicholas is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Donna (Munday) Valero, two children, Lorie Lynn Wagner and her husband, David and Nicholas Kasper Valero and his fiance, Cindy Law, six grandchildren, Morgan Colleen Wagner, Cole William Wagner, Michaela Noel Valero, Ragen Nickoles Valero, Haley Michelle Law and Adam David Law, five sibilings, Kathleen “Kitty” Martino, Michele “Birdie” Amaismeier and her husband, Joe, Helen McClung, and her companion, Russ, Joyce “Teeny” Pashke and John Valero and his wife, Cheryl and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM and again on Thursday, April 4, 2019 from 9:30 til 10:30 AM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Olde St. John's Episcopal Church, Colliers, WV, with Reverend Phil Van Dam, officiating.

Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Colliers, WV with Military Honors by the WV Army National Guard and the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Olde St. John's Episcopal, C/o James Funeral Home, 1245 Main Street, Follansbee, WV 26037.
