Together Again
Norma Jean (McKenzie) Shidock, 84, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away at 12:35 PM on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Ann’s Country Retreat, Wellsburg, WV.
Norma was born on September 27, 1934 in West Liberty, WV. She was the daughter of William McKinley McKenzie and Minnie (Hercules) McKenzie.
Norma was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Wellsburg, WV where she served on Alter and Rosary Society. She retired as a caregiver working at Northwood Health Systems. Many will remember Norma for working on the dairy farm; but most of all the love of her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Shidock in 2002, six brothers, Robert “Bob”, Raymond, John William “Tommy”, Eugene “Toot”, James “Jim” and Ronald “Ronnie” McKenzie, five sisters, Kathleen DeGarmo, Dorothy Meredith, Mary Margaret Anderson, Virginia Mae McKenzie, and Judith Ann “Judy” McKenzie.
Norma is survived by her three children, Dr. Mark Minor, MD and his wife, Rachel of Indialantic, FL, Kevin Minor and his wife, RuLetta, and Lisa Minor, all of Wellsburg, WV, six grandchildren, Mackenzie and his companion, Stephanie, Morgan and her fiancé, Taylor Roberts, Megan, Emily, Sarah and John, a great grandson, Dominic, a brother, Arthur McKenzie and his wife, Velma of Wheeling, WV, two sisters-in-law, Selma McKenzie of Wheeling, WV and Eleanor McKenzie of Drums, PA, her ex-husband, Garland E. Minor and several nieces and nephews.
Private family viewing was held at Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304) 737-3551. Norma’s remains will be returned to the farm.
