Obituary for Robert Leon Gear
Robert Leon Gear, 66 of Valley Grove, WV, passed away at 11:02 AM on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at his residence.
Robert was born on November 3, 1956 in Elkins, WV. He was the son of Leon and Lura (White) Gear of West Liberty, WV.
Robert was United Methodist by denomination of faith. He retired after 33 and half years at West Liberty University as the supervisor of maintenance and prior was the head of housekeeping. Many will remember Robert for his love of hunting, fishing and working on construction items.
Robert was preceded in death by his daughter, Lura Gear and a brother, Michael Gear.
In addition to his parents, Robert was survived by his wife of 45 years, Tammy (Hunt) Gear of Valley Grove, WV, two children, Timothy Gear of Florida and Leon Gear and his wife, Kristin of Follansbee, WV, 10 grandchildren, a great granddaughter, three brothers, Jimmy Gear of Wellsburg, WV, David Gear of West Liberty, WV and Mark Gear and his wife, Stacey of Beech Bottom, WV, a sister-in-law, Kelly Gear and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 2:00 until time of Funeral Service at 6:00 PM at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304)737-3551 with Reverend Debra Dague, officiating.
