Obituary for Sharon Elizabeth Cronin

Sharon Elizabeth Cronin, 42, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away at 4:31 AM on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV, after a long courageous battle against brain cancer.

Sharon was born on June 14, 1976 in Wheeling, WV. She was the daughter of Nola (Wells) Cronin of Wellsburg, WV and the late Paul Allen Cronin, who passed away on Tuesday.

Sharon was a graduate of Brooke High School and WVU where she was a member of the Pride of WV, the WVU Marching Band. She worked at DHHR in child protective services for 10 years and now working at Main Street Bank, Wellsburg. She was a devoted member of Beech Bottom Community Christian Church, where she sang in the choir, board member and served on numerous committees and Eastern Star Bethany Chapter #64 Bethany and Miriam Chapter #1, Wheeling, WV, where she served as Past Matron of both and Grand Martha for the State of WV. Many will remember Sharon for love of music, cross stitching, and everything Eastern Star; but most of all, for her sense of humor, knowledge, strength and determined spirit of life.

In addition to her father, Paul, Sharon was preceded in death by a nephew, Zachary Higgs, maternal and paternal grandparents.

In addition to her mother, Nola, Sharon is survived by her sister, Carrie Wheat and her husband, Bill of Wellsburg, WV, aunts, many cousins, numerous friends and church family and her dog, Piper.

Family and friends will be received for Sharon and her dad, Paul on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 from 12 Noon -2:00 and 4:00-8:00 PM with Eastern Star Service at 7:00 PM at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304) 737-3551 and again on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 from 11:00 AM until time of Funeral Services for Sharon and Paul at 12 Noon at the Brooke Hills Free Methodist Church, 1340 Washington Pike, Wellsburg, WV, with the family’s pastor, Reverend Daniel Harry, Officiating.

Interment will follow for Sharon and her dad, Paul at Bethany Community Cemetery, Bethany, WV.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made for Sharon and her father to the Beech Bottom Community Christian Church, C/o Chambers Funeral Home, 1030 Main Street, Wellsburg, WV 26070.
