Stephan Charles Carroll, 41 of Follansbee, WV, passed away suddenly at 12:37 AM on Friday, December 9, 2022 at his residence.
Steve was born on February 14, 1981 in Wheeling, WV. He is the son of Donald Wesley Carroll of Wheeling and the late Jody Lynn (Vdovjak) Carroll.
Steve was the general manager of Center of Music and Art in Wintersville, OH and the organist at Starkdale Presbyterian Church, Wintersville, OH. Many will remember, Steve for his successful track record of producing soundtracks for TV, corporate videos and video games with his most recent work, featured in the 2016 Australian Directors Guild Awards show “In Memoriam” segment for his critically-acclaimed composition of “Symphony No. 1” and was featured in the national publication Keyboard Magazine in addition to being semifinalist in the Turner Classic Movies Young Film Composer competition for his music was featured in the short film “Tears for the Son” in the Tribeca Film Festival. Composing and performing music was Steve’s life.
Steve is survived by his wife, Aimee (Simpson) Carroll in Follansbee, WV, a brother, Matthew Carroll of Wheeling, WV, a nephew, Nolan Carroll, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ronald J. and Christy Simpson of Follansbee, WV.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 from 4:00 PM until time of Funeral Service at 7:00 PM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV with Reverend Debra Dague, officiating. Please note a Trisagion will occur at 5:30 PM with Father Yanni from Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox – Steubenville, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Life United Methodist Church – Wheeling Island, Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church- Steubenville, OH or Starkdale Presbyterian Church in Wintersville, OH, C/o James Funeral Home, 1245 Main Street, Follansbee, WV 26037.
