Obituary for Thomas "Tom" Lee Marling
Thomas “Tom” Lee Marling, 76, of Beech Bottom, WV, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH, passed away at 5:47 AM on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Mary Jane Brooks Valley Hospice Care Center, Steubenville, OH.
Tom was born on November 5, 1942 in Martins Ferry, OH. He was the son of the late Thomas Marling and Leatrice M. (Graham) Strama.
Tom served his country proudly in the United States Army. He was a foreman at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp for many years. Many will remember Tom for his love of wood working and painting, enjoying the great outdoors, boating and fishing.
Tom is survived by four children, Ron Marling and his wife, Jill, Janean Christy and her husband, Lloyd, Tom Marling and Beth Marling, three grandchildren, Kayla Amato and her husband, Eric, Logan Barnes, Aidan Marling and two great grandchildren, Grace and Beau Amato, a sister, Regina Donahue of Shadyside, OH, three step siblings, JoEllen, Jeff and Jordan and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his birth family, Tom is survived by his companion of 30 years, Wanda Jones of Beech Bottom, WV, Wanda’s family, three children, his adopted family, Debbie Taylor of Myrtle Beach, SC, William Jones and his wife, Kelly of Beech Bottom, WV and Elsie Jones of Wheeling, WV, her seven grandchildren, Atasica Long and her husband, Joe, Chase Taylor, LaRay Taylor, Kayla Smith and her husband, Michael, Stephen Jones and his wife, Katelynn, and Abigail and Alex Baker, her eight great grandchildren, his furry friend, TJ and best friend, Lisa Weisgerber.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, March 4, 2019 from 5:00 until time of Funeral Service at 7:00 PM at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, (304)737-3551 with Pastor Joe Ryan of the Paris Church of the Nazarene, officiating with Military Honors by the WV Army National Guard, the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad and a flag line by the WV Patriot Guard.
