Obituary for Timothy James "Tim" Miller

Timothy (Tim) James Miller, 65, of Colliers, West Virginia, son of the late Elaine and Bill Miller, was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on February 13, 2023.

Tim, born May 30, 1957, was the devoted husband of the late Delphia (Del) Jane Miller, the ever-caring father of daughter Laci (Nick Ripley) Ann Miller and Taylor Dawson (whom Tim loved like a second daughter) and the proud and loving grandfather - better known as Pappy Tim - of Xavier, Riley, Lexi, Carson, Kaylee and Mani.

One of 5 children, Tim’s siblings are Paul Miller, Nannette (Jamie) Garrison, Jason (Bridget) Miller and the late Debbie Chalut.

Of Tim’s extended family are his cousin, Erin (Dean) Ankrum and along with in-laws, nieces and nephews too numerous to mention yet all for whom Tim had an affection which often was couched in his unique sense of humor.

Tim served 12 years of active duty in the United States Navy followed by serving an additional 8 years in the Army National Guard. Tim retired after a lengthy career as a registered nurse. Tim was a member of Weirton Alliance Church where we was actively involved in the Men’s Group where he developed deep, cherished friendships. Tim enjoyed hunting and fishing along with being a gun enthusiast and loving time at the beach.

Tim was the embodiment of grace under fire displaying an incredible faith-centered tenacity even as he faced significant health challenges - always putting others first as was best displayed in his endless care of his sweet wife Del as she endured a lengthy period in a coma which required 24 hour care and for which at times Tim was very sick yet unwaveringly tended to her. Even in his last days, Tim maintained a peaceful outlook because of his faith and an uncanny sense of humor while continually asking how others with various ailments were doing. In short, we should all hope to live - let alone pass - with such dignity and grace.

As the Good Lord in His time has now seen fit, Tim and Del are again sharing milkshakes and nightly walks along the grandest beach of all in Heaven just as they loved to do at their second home in Florida.
