Patricia “Pat” Ann (Barnhart) Boyd, 83, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Ann’s Country Retreat, Wellsburg, WV, under the care of the wonderful staff and Amedisys Hospice.

Pat was born on April 15, 1932 in Wellsburg, WV. She was the daughter of the late Allen and Beatrice (Wolfe) Barnhart.

Pat was a passionate member of Franklin United Methodist Church, where she served as a missionary both abroad and within the State of WV, including her work in Russia, China, Jerusalem and McDowell County. During her missionary work both personal and with the youth group, Pat had a devotion to others through her smile, food, and love. Pat worked at Valley Camp, Hudson Pulp and Paper Corp. and in 1995, she retired from Hinerman and Fahey Law Firm, as the legal secretary. After her secretarial career, Pat worked at Aspen Manor and with Gene Valentine as a personal assistant. Many will remember Pat for her devotion to the Lord through studying the Bible, being the May Queen at Wellsburg High School, and for always seeing others as Christ would see them.

In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” E. Boyd, three brothers, Edgar, Earl and Robert “Bob” Barnhart, three sisters, Bernice Markey, Doris Zumpft, and Nancy McFadden.

Pat is survived by her three sons, Charles “Chuck” Allen Boyd and his companion, Janice McFadden, James “Jim” Lee Boyd and his wife, Pam, all of Wellsburg, WV and John Michael Boyd and his wife, Marcy, of Follansbee, WV, seven grandchildren, Tonya (Tommy) Miller, Amy (Nick) Cross, and Luke (Tiffany) Boyd, Jay (Heidi) Boyd, Lee Ann (Jeremy) Horvat, Brian (Cheryl) Boyd, and Michael Boyd, five great grandchildren, Zachary Miller, Kendra Boyd, McKenzie Cross, Jacob and Lena Boyd, a sister, Beverly Donini of Wellsburg, WV and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM and again on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 10:00 until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at Chambers Funeral Home, 1030 Main Street, Wellsburg, WV (304) 737-3551, with Reverend Carl Tribett, officiating.

Interment will follow at Franklin Cemetery, Wellsburg, WV, next to her loving husband, Jim.
