Obituary for Lola Eleanor Bullock

Lola Eleanor (Schenerlein) Bullock, 87 of Follansbee, WV, passed away at 12:42 AM on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville, OH.

Lola was born on January 29, 1929 in Wheeling, WV. She was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Ruth Ann (Howell) Schenerlein.

Lola was a longstanding member of Christ Episcopal Church, Wellsburg, WV, where she served on the Vestry, ECW, as a Sunday School Teacher, and numerous other activities of the church. In addition to all her works in and around Christ Church, Lola participated in activities at the former Good Shepherd Church, Follansbee, WV and Olde St. John Episcopal, Colliers, WV. Lola was also a part of the AARP and the Peacemakers Quilting Club. She worked for 10 years at JCPenny as a sale associate. Many will remember Lola for her dedication to the church, being named Follansbee Citizen of the Year, but most of all the love she shared with her family.

In addition to her parents, Lola was preceded in death by her husband, John “Hoot” Albert Bullock Sr., a grandson, Shane Lazear, a brother, Wilbur “Sonny” Schenerlein, and a brother in law, Forest “Bill” Eastham.

Lola is survived by her three children, John “Hoot” Albert Bullock Jr. and his wife Kae of Follansbee, WV, Pamela Joy Keener and her husband, Randall of Bethany, WV and Dorie Kolosky and her husband, Joseph of Weirton, WV, five grandchildren, Christian Keener, Joseph “Joey”, Shauna, and Jonathan Kolosky, and Shawn Lazear, seven great grandchildren, Logan, Chase, Alicia, Shawn, Kayla, Shane, and John Michael, eight great great grandchildren, a sister, Patricia Eastham of Follansbee, WV, a sister-in-law, JoAnn Schenerlein of Parkersburg, WV and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, March 13, 2016 from 1:00-3:00 6:00-8:00 PM at the James Funeral Home, 1245 Main Street, Follansbee, WV (304) 527-1717, where funeral will commence on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 10:15 AM

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Christ Episcopal Church, 1014 Main Street, Wellsburg, WV with Reverend Philip Van Dam, presiding.

Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee, WV.
