Obituary for Peter John Lallone

Peter John Lallone, 93, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away peacefully after hearing the words of God at 11:50 AM on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Ann’s Country Retreat, Wellsburg, WV.

Peter was born on October 29, 1922 in Wellsburg, WV. He was the son of the late Angelo and Carmilla (Nepa) Lallone.

Peter served his country proudly as a Master Sergeant in the United States Army during WWII. He not only served as a solider in the Army but also was captured. Peter fought through adversity as a Prisoner of War and was released. He was a devout member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Wellsburg and faithful member of the Ohio Valley Barbed Wire 1. Peter was the owner operator of Lallone Exxon, Wellsburg, with his brother, Frank for over 60 years. Peter was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his boat so much. Over the years, Curt and Linda Tarr helped with boating and just being a dear friends to the Lallone’s as well as numerous others in the community.

In addition to his parents, Peter was preceded in death by his stepmother, Lena Finelli, four brothers, Arthur, Willie, George, and Frank Lallone, two stepbrothers, Tony and Danny Finelli, a stepsister, Janette Camilletti.

Peter is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Eleanor (Alburn) Lallone of Wellsburg, WV, a caring daughter, Sandra Stewart and her husband, Jeffrey of Morgantown, WV, two cherished grandsons, Brandon and Troy Stewart of Morgantown, WV, a sister, Renee Bosevic, two sisters-in-law, Martha and Eileen Lallone and several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

In addition to his immediate family, Peter is also survived by his son-in-laws parents, Dr. Guy and Patricia Stewart of Morgantown, WV and their children, Diane Lepley of Washington, D.C. and the late Thomas E. Stewart.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 from 5:00-8:00 PM with Vigil Service at 7:00 PM at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304) 737-3551, where funeral will commence on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 9:30 AM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Wellsburg, WV, with Father Joseph Daniel Pisano, presiding.

Interment will follow at Franklin Cemetery, Wellsburg, WV with Military Honors by the WV Army National Guard and the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1300 Charles Street, Wellsburg, WV 26070.
