Obituary

David Wayne McLain, 80 of Louise, WV, passed away at 4:50 AM surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Brightwood Center, Follansbee, WV, under the care of the staff and Amedisys Hospice.

David was born on July 16, 1939 in Follansbee, WV. He was the son of the late David William McLain and Virginia (McGinnis) McLain

David served in the United State Army Reserve. He retired from Weir Cove Moving and Storage as a Truck Driver. He attended Olde St. John Episcopal Church. Many will remember David for his love of bowling, camping and fishing; but most of all, for being a true Steeler fan.

David is survived by his wife, Patricia (Dailey) McLain of Louise, WV, five children, Lori Shimko and her husband, John of Louise, WV and Derek McLain and his wife, Shannon of Marietta, OH, Kenneth McLain and his wife, Bonnie of Midway, PA, Missy Stoops of Geoffery, PA and Darla "Dee Dee" Stevens and her husband, Sam of Burgettstown, PA, many grandchildren including, Dalton Walnoha, Ella and Sophia McLain, numerous great grandchildren, two siblings, Benny McLain and his wife, Stephanie of Weirton, WV and Darla Garner and her husband, Terry of South Carolina and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, December 6, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 PM and again on Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 9:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 10:00 AM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717 with Reverend Phillip K. Van Dam, officiating.

Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Colliers, WV, with Military Honors by the WV Army National Guard and the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.

Dave was a great friend to my family and I. He taught my son Bobby a lot about fishing and was always the first to help everyone. You will be missed my old friend but you live on in some great memories. Thank you Dave for being our friend in this life and I hope we get to see each other again on the other side. My condolences to Dave’s family. I knew “Snake Eyes” from when he hauled steel out of the Hot Mill, WSX. Always good to work with and talk hunting and fishing with him. May he Rest In Peace.
