James Joseph Michael McGhee III, 73, of Shamong, NJ, the beloved husband of Jeannine Chambers McGhee passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s on July 31, 2020.

He was born on October 3,1946 in Woodbury, NJ and was the son of the late James and Mary Jane O’Brien McGhee. Jim attended St. Mary’s School in Westville and Bishop Eustice Preparatory School in Pennsauken, NJ. He attended Peirce College in Philadelphia, PA, before enlisting in the Air Force and proudly serving our country for 4 years.

Jim was an Air Traffic Controller at Northeast Philadelphia and then to Philadelphia International Airport as a controller and supervisor until 2003. Lastly, he was employed by Northrop Grumman at Atlantic City Airport until retiring in 2012. On Jim’s off hours and retirement he loved to ride the tractor and cut the pastures of their horse farm.

In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his son James and daughter Jennifer of Florida: 2 granddaughters Taylor and Gianna; 2 sisters Kathy and her husband Jim Kirschner and Karen and her husband Joe Eliasen.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday August 4. 2020 from 9:30-10:30 am at Mathis Funeral Home, 58 N. Main St., Medford, NJ 08055.

Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 am at the Church of the Holy Eucharist 520 Medford Lakes Rd., Shamong, NJ 08088. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Bellmawr, NJ.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross at
